Dani's Garden is named for a very special little girl who died because of many factors to include the inability to eat. It's formation is to help others make a decision to work through the negative factors in their lives that make them believe they do not have a choice. Dani's Garden is the nutritional element of Felton Therapy Center and is dedicated to helping families understand the correlation between trauma and eating disorders.
Groups within Dani's Garden
Basic Nutrition Group-Level I: includes process group information on meal planning, nutritional expectations, and nutritional consultation.
Anorexic Group- Level II: This group is not only for anorexics, it covers a vast amount of information on restriction and encompasses issues from anorexia-restrictive type, bulimia-restrictive type, and EDNOS(chewing and spitting and purging without binging).
Bulimic Group- Level II: This group is not only for bulimics, it covers information and assignments on binging and purging, binging without purging, EDNOS (emotional eaters and night eating, manorexia, and orthorexia).
Relapse Prevention-Level III:Eating Disorders This group typically takes place while in Level III, allowing all clients to begin to practice skills that will help to keep them healthy both emotionally, physically, and spiritually. During this group you will be able to explore life after your Intensive Outpatient Program to include outpatient therapy.
Exposure Therapy Group- Level IV: This group spends each nutritional week exploring several facets of your eating disorder and teaches you how to manage being out in public without fear of being judged. You will actively participate in at least one restaurant challenge, 2 weeks of food exposure, and have a final restaurant outing with family members who have been a vital support for you during your IOP program.
