We would like to take a minute to welcome two of our newest members, Alysson Chickneas, M.A., LPC, NCC and Nurse Trella Hundley, LPN. Alysson is an adolescent and eating disorder specialist. She has been treating Eating Disorders for the past 10 years and has worked within the spectrum of treatment from Inpatient, Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient and Private Practice. Alysson find joy in helping young girls find their passion and purpose in life without their eating disorder. |

Eating Disorder Support Group 24 June 6 to 7:30 pm 8 weeks If you suffer from some form of eating disorder this is the group for you! Learn how to give and receive support for your negative thoughts and discuss issues that have led up to your eating disorder. This is a structured group and you will be provided a topic for each week as well as have open discussion. This is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and continue on the healing path. Felton Therapy Center is please to announce the availability of 4 Dani's Garden scholarships. One thing we know for sure is that time is of the essence in treating trauma and eating disorders. We know that treatment is expensive and want to be a vital part of recovery. Our Intensive Outpatient Program has been successful in the healing process and we want to provide services to as many trauma and eating disordered clients as possible. Because the need is so great we are offering 4 scholarships, each valuing no more than $520. |

What Is EDNOS ?
What if you are not anorexic or bulimic? Does this mean you do not have an eating disorder? EDNOS: ‘Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified’ by the DSM-IV is just as dangerous as anorexia and bulimia if not more. Top Three Reasons People HaveEating Disorders 1. Trauma:Many with eating disorders have some form of traumatic event that has occurred in their lives. Whether it’s the loss of loss of a friend or parent, or being a victim of a violent sexual assault it can be overwhelming and make a person feel shame, disgust, and anger at themselves and others. Low self esteem caused by varying types of traumatic events can lead to an eating disorder. 2. Perfectionism: Many students feel the need to be their best at everything to include their physical selves. |
